Additional Event Information
Starting at Rudland a couple of miles northwest of Gillamoor, we set off across the southern end of Bransdale and ride down to Hodge Beck, then up the other side of the valley to the atmospheric ruins of Stork House. A remote moorland road takes us along the western side of Bransdale before descending steeply to the little settlement of farms and Bransdale Mill at the head of the dale. We detour to the beautiful church of St Nicholas, Cockayne, where we picnic in its peaceful and scenic surroundings. From here, we climb up to the moor above Farndale, then return along the old drovers road of Rudland Rigg to our start point. Led by Pip Mead.
This is an adventurous ride with a river crossing, steep hills and some difficult terrain, rewarded with fabulous views across some of the wildest parts of the National Park. Bring your own picnic. Entry fee 33, max group size 5. Contact us for entry and further details.
