Additional Event Information

This approx 7 mile route would suit the more adventurous rider. This typically dark peak route sets out from Hayfield along the Snake Path, before skirting the base of Kinder Scout, offering a great view down to Kinder Reservoir. Comprising a pleasing mix of grassland, moorland and lanes, the views are expansive throughout. There are some canter opportunities, and hills throughout provide an excellent workout. Worth noting: Going is often rocky and uneven. There are steep gradients both up and down on a mixture of surfaces. There are a number of low branches, which may be problematic for riders of larger horses. Some road work is included, mainly on quiet lanes, but there is a signal controlled crossing of a busier road. Livestock will be present both on, and alongside the route. It is likely walkers with dogs and cyclists will be encountered. Parking is Pay and Display with maximum charges of 15 for all day. Places are 38.50/horse and rider combination, group sizes are limited to 6+guide. All riders must have adequate Public Liability Insurance to cover themselves and their horses. Under 18s are welcome but on a first visit must be accompanied on the ride by an adult rider.
