Additional Event Information
This approx 10 mile route offers a mixture of quiet country lane riding, bridleways offering grassland canter opportunities, and forest trails. Passing through the picturesque Alton village centre, as well as historic Great Gate, points of interest along the way include Alton Castle, Denstone College and the ruins of Croxden Abbey. Views are expansive in the staffordshire countryside with a great vantage point across to the Weaver Hills, and those interested in history might catch a glimpse of the old whipping post as we pass through Great Gate.
