Join us at this BHS South West lecture/demo training with Eric Smiley FBHS. The day will cover the Dressage, Show Jumping and simulated Cross Country elements of Eventing through the levels, from those just starting out at BE80 through to Intermediate.
Whether you are a rider or a coach this is sure to be an invaluable day of training and learning and everyone is invited and welcome to attend.
The presenter, Eric Smiley FBHS, has competed at the highest level and is a world-renowned Coach across all of the disciplines in the field of Eventing. Some of his achievements include:
Irish Field Event Rider of the Year (1982)
Team selection for the European Championships at Burghley (1985)
Bronze medalist at two European Championships, representing Ireland
Represented Ireland in three World Equestrian Games
Represented Ireland in four Olympic Games
Represented Ireland at all levels of International competitions throughout Europe
FEI Internation Judge who regularly acts as a Ground Jury member
Director of the International Eventing Forum (IEF)
Team Coach to the Belgian Eventing Team for European Championships 2011 and London 2012 Olympics
Chairman of Eventing Ireland (Northern Region) for a total of 5 years throughout the last 15 years
Eric is a passionate and enthusiastic teacher and has conducted clinics around the world from the continent of America to Dubai and South Africa to Denmark. In 1995 he took the Fellowship of the British Horse Society examination, the highest teaching qualification in the world. He brings a unique blend of competition experience and education to an audience of all levels. In 2014 he was was the recipient of the Pat Smallwood memorial trophy voted by Fellows & Instructors of the British Horse Society to the member who contributes to the Association with their expertise, encouragement and is an ambassador for the sport and Association.
Cost: �40 | �35 for BHS Accredited Professional Coaches.
Time: 10am - 4pm (Registration from 9.15am)
This day will also count as 6 CPD points for BHS Accredited Professional Coaches.
