Join us for an interesting and educational talk covering First Aid and Emergency Situations from Jenny Routh, Equine Veterinary Surgeon (BSc BVSc MRCVS) at Coach House Vets. This equine first aid talk is for horse owners and anyone working with horses. We all hope we�ll never have to encounter one but would you know what to do in an equine emergency? After all, it�s when our horses need us most. Come and learn the basic principles of how to administer first aid and how to handle and care for a sick or injured horse. Learn important first aid skills and build your confidence to deal with these situations until you are able to seek veterinary care. This talk will cover: - Rules of first aid and your role - How to take your horses vital signs - Helping your horse accept treatment - Assessing punctures and lacerations - Identifying the source of pain - Wound care - Digestive distress such as colic and choke - Cast recovery, collapse and shock - When to call the vet - What to have in a first aid kit - Q&A to answer any of your First aid questions. Doors open at 6.45pm and talk starts at 7pm. Seats are �10 each.
